// Improve and Innovate with the Paragon IT

Success@ Argus

For many years, Argus was with a large Australian Telco for their data and voice services. A MPLS network connected Head Office with five other locations.

On most days, the vendor hosted ERP system performed extremely poorly due to poor network connectivity, and the business was losing a significant amount of staff productivity. These constant network performance issues were a result of poor network design which led to data links being fully utilised. To add to this pain: Each time Head Office lost internet connectivity, the whole business would lose access to the server (housed at HO) and some of it’s could services.

Argus approached Paragon IT for advice, and we were delighted to help the business to overcome those challenges.

We offered Argus our consultancy services to find a better network infrastructure solution, and on behalf of Argus, we found a more suitable Telco that offered multi carrier solutions. They created larger network links – about 200x faster, and every site received a failover backup link.

Next, the plan was to co-locate the server infrastructure to a data centre so that all offices could work independently, and not rely on a head office data link. Paragon IT managed the whole transition.

As a result of above solution network performance issues were thing of the past. Staff productivity improved significantly as ERP performance issues disappeared, and network performance improved. The monthly spend on network infrastructure reduced slightly, whilst simultaneously gaining larger bandwidth and redundant links. This is a fantastic outcome.

We offered our managed services for server and desktop infrastructure at a fixed monthly price and support is only phone call or email away when users require any help. Argus has never looked back.

As time passed, we learned more about the business and identified possibilities that would enable the company to simplify processes, become more agile, and environmentally friendly.

After meeting with the CEO and key staff members to understand the business’ direction and areas of improvement, the solution became clear: An uncomplicated digital solution to move L and O Technologies from individually operated old technology and paper-based systems.

We scanned ERP vendors based on specific requirements and identified one particular vendor as a perfect fit. Now we are consulting L and O Technologies in the digital transformation and managing the project by acting as conduit between the ERP vendor and customer.

The end goal is to fully integrate the agile and simple dashboard (complete with data analytics) to help the business go green by eliminating paper from the operation. Once completed L and O Technologies will notice significant boost in productivity and ROI for many years to come.

// Created a Fully Web-based Application

Success@ Ball Australia Pty Ltd

Ball Australia was one of Paragon its first managed services clients. They supply plants to a large number of nurseries and plant wholesalers in Australia. To ensure that their customers receive (and therefore sell) a high-quality product, Ball Australia has a very strict production process. Every single seed is carefully followed through its life cycle to ensure that it gets the correct amount of water. This data, and other information, was maintained and managed manually with a spreadsheet.

We identified that the water management process could be digitised using a web application, but after a fair bit of research, we found that a water-by-weight management app didn’t exist. So we developed one!

We consulted with the Ball Australia production team to create a fully web-based application called Hydrowiz – an agile product available as a mobile and desktop application. Hydrowiz is a success story for Ball Australia, and we have since developed a version update with much improved interfaces.

Hydrowiz has given the Ball Australia production team a huge productivity boost, as they can get required information on the go through the mobile app. It has been so successful that the app has been implemented in their South Korea operations and Ball is planning to deploy the application to their other operations around the world.
